Without a doubt, the village of Loché was populated in prehistoric times, but it was in the Gallo-Roman era that a certain Lopchius built a villa which then took on the name “Lochiacus”. Relics from this era have been found in the current location of the high-speed railway station.

The village then shifted toward the hillsides, attracted by the prospect of grape cultivation. Since 1972 the town has been an associated municipality of Mâcon. You’ll stroll along the peaceful, centuries-old streets where stone houses tower above you. This village was shaped by viticulture. Today, Loché boasts 32 hectares of Pouilly-Loché, making it one of the smallest appellations in the Mâconnais.

Our estate operates on 1.3 hectares of this area. We took ownership of the vines in November 2013 and produced our first vintage in 2014.

» POUILLY-LOCHE "La Colonge"

La Colonge is a plot of 99.76 ares, on which 1/3 of our vines were planted in 1951, 1/3 in 1982 and 1/3 in 1995.
The vine is surrounded by grass, and the soil is ferruginous clay and limestone. The wine is vinified in stainless steel vats, and you’ll detect floral notes from this type of soil.

It’s a very delicate wine that works well as a pre-dinner drink, or served with freshwater fish or shellfish.

» POUILLY-LOCHE "Les Mûres"

Les Mûres is one of the best terroirs in this appellation. The grassy land is made of red clay and sandstone shale. We selected oak barrel vinification for this limited cuvée of only 570 bottles. The wine is full-bodied and opulent, and pairs well with chicken, other poultry and white meat cooked with vegetables or mild spices.

» POUILLY-LOCHE "Aux Scellés"

This vine, also surrounded by grass, was planted in 1929.
We produce approximately 1,300 bottles from this plot. Lightly mineral and floral, this cuvée is our “softest” and most feminine.

Pair it with any slightly sweet-and-sour dishes or enjoy as a summery pre-dinner drink.
